Affordable Housing Bond
OFFICIAL SUPPORTER SIGN ON LETTER
Sign On to Support the Statewide Affordable Housing Bond
AB 736 (authored by Assemblymember Wicks) and SB 417 (authored by Senator Cabaldon) are nearly identical companion bills which would place a $10 billion affordable housing bond on the November 2026 ballot to fund affordable housing development.
If passed, the bond will:
Build and preserve over 45,000 affordable homes, including housing for farmworkers and tribal communities.
Create over 40,000 new homes affordable to very-low income, extremely low income families, while preserving or rehabilitating tens of thousands of additional homes.
Help over 13,000 families become homeowners, creating generational wealth and stability.
Create over 50,000 high-paying jobs, strengthening local economies and supporting California workers.
Generate $1.3 billion in state and local tax revenue.
Explore the bill details here.
